Grey
Why do I feel
Like I cannot heal
Like nothing is real
My heart built of steel
To keep out the demons
From the gates of my Being
Blocking the blackness
That's what I'm seeing
Painted in grey
An uncertain color
Won't be black or white
Instead it just hovers
Never deciding
On one or the other
Perhaps it is choosing
To be both together
Replacing the "or" with the "and"
At once, both water and land
Forgotten how to understand
The concept of "On the other hand"
Grasping with both
Choosing it all
Learned much from a color
Many think of as flawed
Instead, grey flashed its treasure
The secret beauty it held
By defining the outcome
Of when opposites meld
We all oppose each other
In some way or another
But when two extremes
Can come together
For the sake of
The bigger picture
It is something special
To behold...
