Poem Commentary

I wrote this poem as a birthday gift for my first born son, Johnny, one of the greatest pride of my life.

Confession

I see the man you have become

And it makes me happy beyond words

However I want you to know that

from the first time I saw you,

you enchanted my heart and conquered my soul.

It’s such a privilege to be your mother.

In my days you will always be the present,

a rising miracle I was allowed to see

a star traveling in the endless sky that abides in me, in us in our hearts.

A paradise where stars inhabit and play and twinkle eternally.

Son of my dreams.

I love you so.

I love you dizzyingly…

I try not even thinking how much so.

However I remember the lullaby I sang and the tender moments

in which I taught you my songs or so I thought

for in reality it was from you that I learned how to sing.

You brought music into my life.

And it’s through your purity

That I still learn about the many more things I’m to find along the way.

So much is yet to come.

But for now what’s important is to affirm

That being your mother is the most precious honor given to me

In  this journey of mine

you are a valuable reason,

a never forgotten vision,

a vast veil of question already answered,

always beautiful,

distractedly alert, going beyond,

much beyond one may expect.

Poetry.  Pure soul.  Eternal  Search.

Son of my youth.

Friend in whom I count.

Have it engraved in your heart:

You are a priceless treasure sent from above.
