Has God's peace now left you,
Child of God?
Have you taken a path
That you should not have trod.
Did the way you took
Seem noble and right?
But the peace you had is now out of sight .
Then go back, go back, Child of God.
Go back on the path That you have trod.
Go back where your peace
First left you.
You will find the Lord there
Waiting for you.
He knows we're but human
And want to please.
Just go back to the lord,
Down on your knees.
Don't let pride or guilt
Keep you on this path;
It's better to go back,
Than feel His wrath.
If the road you took,
Seemed right to do,
And it needed to be done,
But not by you.
The Lord has prepared
The one for the job.
If you keep on this path,
Others blessing you rob.
He'll take you along
This road in His will.
Your peace will return;
He will be there still.
He'll show you the way
To stay on his path.
Go back to the Lord,
It's not such a task.
If the path you're on
Is hard and long,
But the peace of God
In your heart, is a song,
Then stay on the way
This path leads you;
Cause the Lord is with you,
He'll carry you through.
