    I am A Woman

I love with a lovers passion
For I know no other way
My lips are as soft as a rose petal
    When kissed, they unleash pleasure
My eyes say intrigue and mystery
    For I am many things
    Above all
    I am a woman

My heart belongs to my lover
For he alone can fulfill me
    He challenges me
And helps make me who I am
    He encourages me
    To reach for the stars
In his love I have no limits
    Only endless possibilities
    For I am a woman

    My heritage affords me
To carry my head with dignity
For we are a proud people
I demand the respect of my peers
Yet only show respect when it is earned

I am strength, I am confidence
    I proud, I am love
    I am a woman

Well now! This is curious.LOL Ok, if you truely took the measure of writing from a woman's stand point here-then...bravo! You have pulled this off masterfully. This is a very risky, gutsy move.very. If you had not nailed this so poetically strong-you could have really bashed your reputation. However, you DID IT! You took this risk-and drove it home, because of this-you have rose above many!-Super cool thing you did! Dont know if I would have the guts.-deserved 10!

Pretty damn good! For a fella. You seem to understand the opposite sex and their needs very well. As a peer and fellow poet i implore you, write on....

Such honesty.....Seemingly unprovoked! Of course, this is the perspective from an outside observer who only has a small glimpse of a much greater picture. I admire your sincerity. Such depth of expression! You know who you are and walk with your head held high.......Love it!

This is a wonderful woman. Your use of the narrative form for this poem was a little surprising, but it was used effectively. Great Job!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
