    I died today

    I died today

Holding hands with a gay man

Who’s best friend died of aids

    I died today

Against the chest of a brother

Who’s sister died in a drive by

    Yeah I died today

On the shoulder of a soldier

    Death had haunted his dreams

    And yeah I died today

In the arms of a mother

    Who lost her only child

    I died today

    Nailed for a thief

    Confessing before a king

    I died today

    A deserving death

    Undeserving what lies ahead

    That’s why I died today

Very somber write. I like the flow of this one. It seems you could expand more on this though.

I love it. So very true. What happens to others happen to us as well. As Euripides wrote, "When a good man is hurt, all who would be called good must suffer with him." I feel this poem is an extension on those words. Very nice.

This is a very nicely written poem. :) I'm not really too good at doing critiques on poems, but I do say this is very good. :)
