    I Think I'm Gonna' Write a Book

     For most of her life, she was content,
    To be nothing more than a line in God's novel,
    a character in His book.

    She may have wanted to dissent,
    but obstacles before her seemed
    so much larger when she would look.

    Then out of the blue came a ray of hope.
    It brought her life into focus,
    gave her life's path a new light.

    As fearful as she was of a life change,
    the life she had been leading was sterile,
    and she would welcome a fresh change.

    So she  spread her literary wings
    and let her life take flight.
    Leaving her security alone in the night.

    Knowing full well she was not Master of the Universe,
    Fully aware of the fact that she was not King of the Hill,
    she seriously became The Director of her own Life Story...
    to write and publish her first book.

    I just had to share that I have had some of the same urgings. The perplexing thing about that is just as you said.."It will never be finished until life is done." Keeping this one for the file!

    Mandi, I am also writing an autobiography which is still a work in progress. I hope to finish it before I'm 90. Ha-ha!

    I like that, I feel/felt the same, heck I could have written that, excellent. I agree with you, winning here would be nice or at least being selectedas an editors pick. This is a very big site with many coming and going, but who knows, we must keep trying. I have put together a 30 piece collection and had Blurb print it up. It came out very well and was a great shot in the arm. Their software was easy to master and made me realize how much work there is to a book. I probably will make it public on Blurb after the Holidays, its titled " Heartstrings ... a collection of poetic prose ". I am also working on others and looking into other publishing venues.
