IDENTITY
Varying situations, seems to call for Multiple identifications.
If I sing about Sex and What I Could Do,
I’m an R&B singer who croons real cool!
Just as if a Rapper who talks about sex and what he
would do, is labeled as immature. Is it the way it is brought
forth or what you think you saw helps you to try define a
person, place or thing’s identity? That’s what so funny about
the origins of identity.
Take for instance, a man of war, one goes to kill,
while another one is home to protect, but to each side a life
loss is still a martyr for their prospective identifying causes.
It all depends on your position that determines what you can
or cannot identify with.
Black Man is shot down in the street, caught up in
some off-duty policing, because a badge was not displayed,
White Man thought him to be a criminal with a gun trying to flee.
White man justifies saying he was just doing his job
eventhough they both were “on the job”.
Proper identification can never be fully accurate. Cuz several
times a day I might have to portray someone else. Like reppin’
gangsta In an unsafe hood, although just passing by, only I knowthat its really all good, so you bop and sway looking my way,
or walk with swag, while I'm walking briskly trying to move
through the situation real fast. Or talking Intelligent when around
college read peeps, knowing they would be surprised to know
the gutta flow you occasionally speak. Next is that Credit Line,
of which I’m denied, cuz my score comes up as 209, to Mister
Credit Man, numbers don’t lie and my credit identity will never
change, even if I use my last dollar to pay him off and live off
left-over loose change.
Then comes employment I.D., if I make $1 million an hour then
I’m considered CEO material even if my company only produces
poisonous cereal for the masses to consume, I guess both are
true identifications, and it just happens to matter from which
view is where you make distinction. From classification of
viruses from real smart researchers, cover your mouth before
you sneeze, or else you will be identified with Bird or Swine Flu or
Fleas by way of Lyme disease instead of just allergies.
From SUVs to STDs, HIVs, to Pro-Life Rights, to fights for Same
Sex Rights in marriage all the way to Mixed Martial Arts performed in octagon arenas which was identified as Friday Boxing Night. We search for that identifying niche, to represent, or sustain recognition, like my zodiac sign goes by the name of Scorpio.
That’s What Makes My I, Different From You Being You and If
You See Me Then I Ought to be Seeing You. Look how easy it
could be if you could really identify with what I have been saying.
Just make sure before you step out, or set your mind to identify in all situations to always remember to have and be carrying as well as deciphering Proper Identification.
