    If He Were Mine

If he were mine the day dreaming would be over.
There would be no more imagining that he were mine.
The man that I secretly loved would be there with me through and through.
If he were mine fantasies would disappear.
There would be no more need in hoping that one day he would declare his undying love for me.
I would respond in absolute truth.
If he were mine the loneliness would end.
There would be no more empty nights because he would be there with me.
He would reach over and envelope me in his warm embrace.
I would be filled with unrestrained passion and desire as he whispers in my ear.
I would gaze lovingly upon his face.
He has me mesmerized with his engaging smile, wit, and charm.
He'd never have to subdue me because he'd have me opened up wide and unarmed.
If he were mine the hiding would cease.
There would be no more isolation behind closed doors while publicly craving acceptance.
I am protecting a heart that was torn to pieces many times and pasted back together again.
Because of him I appear whole.
If he were mine the sky would open up and the entire world would know that there was a match made in heaven.
    Intellectually, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
If he were mine I would celebrate.
There would be cause for celebration because two hearts would start beating as one.
Two bodies would chart unknown territories with two minds spun.
If he were mine I would start believing and have renewed hope.
Hope would keep me believing in and caring more about myself.
If I could change the hands of time the clock would stop and I would go back in a moment in time.
To a place and time when he declared that he wanted and loved me.
I was too afraid to believe that what he said was for real thinking it was one of those lines.
If he were mine the weakness would disappear.
There would be no more focusing on my inadequacies because he gives me strength to persevere.
If he were mine I would no longer be afraid of trying.
There would be no more reason to be afraid of failure because he makes me want to try even harder and seek my needs first.
There is no one that can please him better than himself ,this I know.
If he were mine I would consider myself blessed.
I would open up all the way, give him my all, and submit him to a test.
I would say to my heart, make room for more love, cherish and pamper him at best.
He would do the same and we would become as one.
He would say to me, "I am yours."
I would say to him, "You are mine."
We would live our lives together as if OURS.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
