relishing silent laughter, solemn in sympathy, seeming but not tis.

It was quite sometime before I had figured this mirage all out..
after many skinned elbows and knees, I stand & brush dirt off.
many tears fell down ,many times when alone I'd scream and shout,
many times I'd confronted him, he'd lie  say it's in my head then scoff.

I'd taken this as a personal weakness, deception always wrecking me so
I'd crash and burn in emotional accidents left cut, bleeding & bruised
picking up shards...piecing the puzzle..questioning.. "why?" I had to know,
does this occur & if he ever cared at all, I'd feel utterly used and abused

I'd fall behind, finding myself back where many times I'd started before
stuck in a lull amazed,,not wanting to to think or believe people could
purposefully cause pain and feel good like keeping a rook game's score
in some sick and twisted reality show but I finally realized ,"he" could.

No longer can I let him take from me the only things I have left.....
my soul, my spirit, my care for others and the earth, this my power!!!!!!!
!nevermore can I leave unprotected these generous gifts of value & depth.
