Into the Azure Blue Sky
This is a story of a young boy,
Who wanted to learn to how to fly,
Liike his father before him,
Up away iinto the azure blue sky.
He paid attention to his parents.
He learned how to be a good friend.
Doing his best in his schoolwork,
He grew into a fine young man..
Then, early one December morning
A young pilot readied to fly.
Finishing his routine checklist,
He raised his eyes to the sky.
The sun, hidden by the grey thickness,
Was a vision of fog-muted flame.
Blanketing all the earth he could see,
To him everything looked the same.
As an athlete trusts in his coach
The young pilot relied on his plane.,
If each instrament was doing its job
He, then, could do the same.
For all he had ever wanted,
As many a young man does, was to fly
Up, up and away from earthly tethers
Into the azure blue sky.
What was down seemed up,
And, what was up was down surely.
But, a meeting of metal and earth,
Caused a firey blaze to end the query.
In a minute second, all was gone,
Smoke and fire had taken its toll.
The young pilot had vanished,
To heaven God had sent his soul..
To this day we remember fondly,
That he applied all of his learning,
To accomplish the goal of being a pilot,
Fullfilling his youthful yearning
For all he had ever wantned
As many a young man does, was to fly
Up, up and away from Earthly tethers
And into the azure blue sky.
