    Poem Commentary

    Sometimes things happen for a reason, while other times the things that happen are intentionally inflected with malice - May those who are the victims find strength to stand strong and not hold onto the pain...

    It Hurts
    It Hurts

    How could you use it without conscience
    You know that it inflicts irreversible pain

    Don't pretend you're unaware of what it is
    You've used it artfully to destroy in countless ways

    I've never ever been able to accept it
    There's not a part of me that will ever get used to it

    You've torn my self-worth in two with it
    It has continued to strip away my dignity

    I will find the strength to heal from it
    Though, it will forever weaken you  

    I must now release it back to where it came from
    Be careful that it doesn’t pierce your heart as it has mine
     
    It is a powerful and hurtful weapon
    Here it is - all of it - take the HATE and be gone with it

    ohhhhhhh this is so true....i love how you kept the reader guessing what IT could be.......and yet it was there all the time...the hate that some people carry around with them everyday....its toxic

    Soul - Each line of this great piece is powerful initself. An ode to those inflicted by hate and pain, I think that all of us can relate to this one way or another! :) Great write my friend! :) Ken

    yes, I agree with you. we can get used to living with anger and it becomes part us. Harmful destroying everything good in our hearts. I liked this poem .

    Hate - is a fine blade sharpened by intention and when thrust into the innocent it leaves wounds that never heal... thank you
