  • Past the ocean, and into the clouds, we sail into the sun...

Do not cry for me,
My concrete angel,
For my distance shall not be long.
You look at me with eyes so sad,
The truth that lies within,
Says your heart is not all of stone.
You lose your breath,
Every time we are near,
Yet you stand your ground,
Not willing to move past,
What your heart tells you.
Frozen in place,
Scared of what might be,
You have been hurt,
Too many times.
We play our games,
Reading each others minds,
Never speaking a word,
We sit and look into eachothers eyes.
You are the puzzle,
That I have been waiting for,
The riddle I wish to answer,
The one I want to stay close to.
You push me away,
Not wanting to be hurt,
Yet a tear comes to your eye,
As you turn away,
Your last words,
"One day..."
So do not cry for me,
My concrete angel,
I will be back for you.

its great really, you have captured the whole feeling of "love" without it sounding so typical and plain.

I dislike to go with typical and plain, seems to be a bore, ha ha. I would rather give it an image in which it has not yet seen before, and yet, still be seen for what it truly is.

“When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudice, and motivated by pride and vanity.” ~Dale Camegie Perhaps this is why love has always confused me a bit, as I look to quickly for a logical explanation to why people act as they do when they are in ‘love.’ How easy to overlook the fact that, despite the trials and tribulations life is without merit when one closes off the world.

I especially love the line about reading eachothers minds. It shows the proximity you share and the beauty of the concrete angel. Gorgeous work, as always. Keep writing(:

Very nice poem! Great job of getting your emotions across..as well as the emotions you perceive in your friend....Great job of writing! Hope it works out...:)

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
