Joy in Jesus

Joy in Jesus

From the stem of blessed father Abraham,
A seed from the apple of God's eye
Is sown into the earth out of love.

His birth prophesied by one of prophecy's best.
His path closed by the prophet of the highest.
His arrival accepted with so much zest.

Out of Mary in the aboode of horses,
Into this world in the absence of nurses;
"Glory to God", the heavenly host rejoices.

Strong wind of joy brings the baby boy.
Simeon felt it, Anna snapped into it;
I felt, snapped into and shall dwell in it.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
