Let me lend you my eyes for a day
Would you please let me lend you my eyes for a day
And see all of my world as I do for today,
Would you watch the desperation that broods all around,
As starvation, greed, hate and poverty abound,
Misery loves company and here we are found,
Would you please let me lend you my eyes for a day,
My only request is you don’t turn away,
From reality that’s staring you grimly your way,
Surviving on less than a dollar a day,
Children forsaken with no place to stay,
Would you please let me lend you my eyes for a day,
Don’t hold back the tears I will wipe them away,
As government conspires to rob all of our wealth,
Our wages for hardship is longing for death,
We cling to religion we’re living by faith,
Would you please let me lend you my eyes for a day,
I wish I was blind’s what I really mean to say,
Yet I’m happy I now may be able to pray,
And hope once returned I will see a better way,
You may be our only hope to change this dismay,
So would you please let me lend you my eyes for a day,
