Longing
Longing
So many good friends
Have come and gone
Like the days and nights,
Of years gone so long
Leaving empty spaces
Where our hearts
Once filled with warmth,
Like Sunshine upon our face
Yearning for solace
Left alone to linger
Longing for all that once was,
Obsessing for life,as a child, younger
Gone are the days
That we once knew
Happy and carefree
Problems, very few
Tender, impressionable
We soon learned in a way
That broke our hearts,
Made our feelings fray
Yet, still, hope grew
Anew in our hearts
Only to be stricken
Again, broken into parts
Will it ever end?
Will pain ever depart
Like those friendships that once
Were tethered to our hearts?
Pleading for mercy,
Pausing for love.
Gentle souls caressed
With blessings from above
NO, nothing will last.
Be it joy or sorrow
So accept Life as is...
It is tomorrow
