    • Well everyone, three weeks and Im gonna be the father of a baby boy. Words cant describe how excited I am. Also a little scared. Ive posted a song that Im workin on let me know how you like it.

    Poem Commentary

This one is a basic recap of the past 8 years of my life. a condensed version of my story so to speak. ( the horse with no name is supposed to stand for the vehicles we used to convoy through the desert from kuwait to Iraq in 2004. since writing this I have realized that this specific imagry was also used in a song called "A Horse with No Name" by the band "America")\
The devil in his human disguse is Saddam. I hope the rest is self explanitory.

    Looking Back

I am a cowboy on a horse with no name.
I've rode through the desert that will never be tame.
I've seen the devil with his firey eyes
    hiding behind his human disguise.
I've tasted the tears that the Saviour cries
    everytime an innocent dies.
I've been the chilly hand of death.
I've given life with human breath.
I've seen nights so dark I lost my mind
and days so bright it made me blind.
I've dreamt of pleasure and woke up to pain.
I've used insanity to keep me sane.
I've witnessed beauty that words can't describe
and nightmare visions from which I can't hide.
I've seen brilliant rays of golden fires
turn to black darkness as daylight expires.
I've faced demons and ran them down.
My blood and sweat upon the ground.
Ive made choices through the years
Some brought smiles and some brought tears
But when it is my time to go,
I'll gladly pay the dues i owe.

Beautiful imagry and a super rhyme scheme, I feel like i'm in that desert when I read this. Wonderfully written

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
