Manic Depression: On the down-side

Manic Depression: On the down-side

Broke...Scared...Depressed...Alone
I only want to be at home
No one seems to understand
There are no funds or back up plans

Feeling good can never last
Two good months and then I crash
All my plans and crazy schemes
Become sleepless nightmare dreams

Trying hard to face the days
Of anxious thoughts and downcast ways
Friends are tired of my calls
Or can not understand my fall

Beyond the place I can turn back
Slipping fast, one more attack
Losing months or maybe years
For my depression there's no cure

Is there not a place to go
Where feeling good won't lead to low?

As a fellow sufferer from the illness, this poem really resonates with me. Well done. The "fall" is one of the hardest things to deal with.

There is always a place to go where feelin good won't lead to a low, you have to find it deep within ...I understand your thought all too well..a good read.......inkmaster

AMAZING! My dad Is Bipolar, I think I MIGHT BE... undiagnosed though. Couldn't have worded this better myself. You really explained it in depth for those who don't fight this battle. Great write. all the best -Marion-

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
