Me to My Dad

Me to My Dad

Well Dad, I can honestly say to you

You are the worst person to me

You have taught me to pay for what i've done

and to never run away from things

To always stay strong because people are weak.

With you I have every right to be afraid

of everything except myself.

And to fear every person who walks into my life

and to not hand out my trust

To forget all of the bad things

and the things you've taught me.

So, Daddy, keep acting like I don't exist

Forget every last bit of yourself

because you can't be the person you are now,

it would only mean there being more people like me.

Leave my thoughts as soon as you can-

for I don't know anything about you anyway.

For myself I am strong.

I say thanks for all the Hell you've caused

and for all of what you've taught me.

You are the worst person to me no matter what you do.

It's sad when important people in are life hurt us the most. I have a rocky relationship with my dad I'm sure many people will relate to your poem.

Yeah. But sometimes when the people you need in your life aren't, that's what you get the strongest. I'm sorry about you and you're dad, keep smiling, things will look up.I'm sure, I just wish it would be about a happier subject.

Thanks. It's good when people can relate to my poems, I only wish more people would relate to the "happier" ones. And I definitely will.

Ohhhh how I can relate. I love the way you put this into words. "You have taught me to pay for what i've done and to never run away from things To always stay strong because people are weak. With you I have every right to be afraid of everything except myself." - Exactly. Exactly. I can't stress enough how much I feel this way about my own parents. And the part where you said "Leave my thoughts as soon as you can- for I don't know anything about you anyway." Really got to me. Love the whole thing. Saved to favs.

Wow, thank you very much. Even though it's a rather sad topic, I still love when people are able to relate. Thanks again.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
