    Poem Commentary

an unfortunate ending for such a musical genius. kudos Michael,  rest in peace.

    Michael Jackson

a genius on the stage in lights

with costume on both day and night

did never tell that things weren’t right

a victim of that self fought fight.

but conjured up a brighter life

through songs and dance that hid his strife

from face enhanced so none could tell

each face was worn but worn not well.

and carried round that burden so

to find that most in fact did know

confessed in truth he early fell

to sentence served in Dante’s Hell.

then lived a life of solitude

from press and fans in multitudes

to die at last from overdose

when comeback was so ever close.

a moral to this tale of woe

is be yourself so all may know

that what you get is what you see,

for what you are was meant to be.

I'm not now & never was a big admirer of Michael Jackson, but this poem is a masterpiece of compassionate understanding and poetic skill. I wish I'd written so wisely.

A wonderful, truth filled and deserved trubute to the King of Pop. Whatever people accused him of , one thing is for sure the truth and that is he did so much good for people through his music and charities.

Very nice! I'm also a fan of MJ and and regret that he died so young, he was a genius- great performer and great entertainer...

Great write. I saw the title and had to know what one could say about such a sad story. Well, I am impressed. So well put. Very good expression.

This is a wonderful work of art. You said it exactly like it was and is. I enjoyed your poem very much. Thank you for sharing your gift. Blessings!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
