Poem Commentary

I have lived with this for most of my life and by having my regular visits to the physicians I'm still here...a Wife of 20 years, a Mom, and a DivaGranny.  Don't let her steal your "DREAMS"

MISS RECNAC

She's a lady that visits when you least expect it
A quiet--even silent visitor
She's comes to you with a purpose driven spirit
A sista' with a plan
This mysterious madame doesn't worry about her fiqure
She's feels..."the bigga the betta"
This mistress in disguise loves playing games...especially "hide-n-seek"
She's the best at concealing her identity until it's too late
Miss Recnac adores women, divas that are in the prime of their lives
Doing things that really matter..like working, raising a family, or just enjoying LIFE
Miss Recnac loves men, dudes that are living care free lives..just doin' their own things like investing, playing sports, or just living for that MOMENT
She's a woman who strives on destroying lives
She's stronger than any army
She'll steal your heart
She'll take your breathe away
At the end of her mission
She thrives on your ultimate hurt and pain
She wants to steal your joy and hope
She's known by all and loved by no-one
Don't let her get you
Like she got me
She calls herself Miss RECNAC
But, her real name is CANCER
Don't..... Miss Cancer!!!!!
Have you scheduled your annual physical.

Pretty thought provoking. Pretty sobering. I think next time I will not read the poet commentary before I read the poem. I learned that here. I think it would have been even more powerful.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
