    Poem Commentary

for all of my children...the oldest of whom are learning a thing or two about cloudy days...

    mother love

skip through the sunshine field child
    meander in innocent bliss
trailing fingers through the tall grass
    taste a buttercup kiss

lie down in resplendent wild flowers
    with a cornflower blanket sky
    make a chain of daisies
as the fluffy clouds go by

    feel warm gentle breezes
    tousle lovely shining locks
    hear song birds serenade you
as you pick up pretty rocks

you keep them in your pocket
with a feather that you found
    memento's of a sunny day
when you felt God's love abound

    hold the memory desperately
    against your raging breast
    when dark storm clouds gather
and your faith is sorely stressed

there won't be many days like this
I wish that it were other
but child I'll never lie to you
I'm not that kind of mother

Lovely poem as always Tender. Your style pulls one into the poem quickly and all the way to the end. Remember these precious days of light when darkness doth surround you.

As a mother (2 Kids-Really) ....... I can totally relate and feel your emotions. Sad but true, even with the beauty of such miracles also can bring much pain! Such contrast_____There is nothing comparable to the sweet innocence of youth_______But as a parent, there is nothing worse than seeing your child suffer!

Very well put to keep true away from empy promises, very uniques words pushing this page, I love the sentiment of the child picking up rocks, feathers my son does that at time to give to his mom. I enjoyed the write.

I thoroughly enjoyed the travel down through these verses... I could see myself the bird in a nearby tree, watching this picture unfold... You did a great mind capture with this one TP... Excellent rhythm and rhyme, well thought out... Great write...

I can tell that you take your time and get it right. Very nice rhyme and subject matter is well thought out and works on an emotional level. Nice work!

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
