    Poem Commentary

    During a tough time, when I was self-medicating to try to stay sane....

    Muddled

    Smoking the flowers
    Of the Goddess so Green
    Drinking the nectar
    Try to muddle the scene
    Feeling skewed and solitary
    Stuck in the crack inbetween
    The fine line that is walked
    Between crazy and sane
    Intoxicated
    Agitated
    Drinking to stop thinking
    Exasperated
    Devastated
    Smoke another without blinking
    Trying desperately to
    Exhale these feelings
    This wounded part of me
    Cries out for healing
    But for right now
    This is how I'm dealing
    Lost in a bubble
    Of subconscious concealing
    Drifting through each minute
    Numb and disconnected
    Praying all the while
    For my heart
    To be resurrected

    A masterfully crafted poem. The emotional break-down here is what renders the reader to want to help. I love the short lines and rhyme scheme. ginga

    the chemical disconnect is a really bad out...but your writing is nearly flawless....and the emotions I can definitely relate to.

    thanks for your comments, yes, I know that it is not a good idea to chemically medicate oneself, its really not an out at all...just was what I happened to do when I wrote this long ago, so I didn't feel I should omit that part of it. thank you again for your words!

    Know the feeling, I love the title, prayer is the key. The intro to this is cool. The imagery works.
