Music Box

I have a music box
You want to hear it play?
Please listen to it Ken
don’t turn away

Ive kept it with me
It was meant for you
It sounds so lonely
Just like you do

I know you’ve forgotten
Cause its been a while
My name is Yuri
I use to make you smile

Everything changed now
Your not the same
You forgot everything
Even your own name

You made me a promise Ken
Do you remember?
It was when my mother left
That youd be with me forever

Listen to the song ken
And tell me why
You left me by myself
now your going to die

You’re my best friend
God doesn’t need you
Hes taken everyone
And now you too

When the angels come
Please tell them no
Id die without you
For I need you more

No matters what happens
Ill always be by your side
While the music box plays
I slept while you cried

God takes the one's that we love, and need the most sometimes, but the music in our hearts will always have a song for them. Great Write, I must say this one resonated with me. Excellent write. Dave

I wrote a song once called music box, which was more about a girl who lived in the music box(as in her own world) in which she doesn't need me, but tell her that the world is empty and the only one who's left is me. But this brings about a much darker look on the music box, and I love how you did it, great!

"I slept while you cried." I think the entire poem truly sums up in that one line. To be at peace whilst another is not, such guilt, such loneliness to wake in the morning to know the truth. A truly sad and touching poem. Good read, Good write, Good job.

thank you so much im glad you understand it

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
