My Father

My Father

What does a father mean to me?
He’s everything a child can think of
The best of a mother’s dream.
He’s honest, caring and understanding
Who show’s a lot of respect
He is one who is loyal,
Committed
And appreciative of that.
His children makes him happy
And he smiles whenever they are around
His love is so strong for them
That no negative force can bring him down.
He’s one to be honored
For the years that he has served
The best father any child could imagine
Strict and full of the power he deserves.
He can be the shoulder used to cry on
When his children are down and hurt
And when his children get out of line
He knows the appropriate discipline to use
That works.
He is a gentleman of his word
The most beautiful man alive
That I see
So to my father,
I thank you
For being a grandfather and father
To my children and me.

I enjoyed this poem very much. It shows very much your view on fathers and also shows the amount of respect you have for your own. I can't wait until you make one for mothers ;-) Keep up the good work

I like your poem, please read mind and let me what you think my first time

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
