MY MELODY

MY MELODY

HE IS MY MELODY.
HE IS MY FUNK,
MY PASSION,
MY BEAT,
MY RHYTHM AND BLUES.
MY JAZZ, MY POP, MY SOUL, MY LOVE, MY LIFE, EVEN WHEN IT'S FILLED WITH STRIFE.

HE IS MY MELODY.
MY TUNE,
 MY MOOD MUSIC,
MY ACE BOON COON.
HE FLOWS THROUGH ME. HE IS MY TEMPO KEEPING THE BEAT NEVER STACCATO.

THUMPING,
POUNDING,
MOVING,
GROOVING.
GIVING HIS ALL THROUGH IT ALL.
LOVING HIM KEEPS ME GROUNDED.

MY MELODY FLOWS LIKE MELODIOUS KEY EVERY NOTE SURE TO PLEASE.

HE GIVES ME HIS ALL WITHOUT RHYME OR REASON, THOUGHT OR PATTERN, PLACE OR SEASON.

HE IS MY MELODY.

I LOVE HIM. I NEED HIM. HE PLEASES ME.

You did a very good job of pouring your emotions into words and creating a picture of joyful noise.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
