NATURE'S ROMANCE (c) Copyright 2002

New mercies I see each morning
Forlornness subdued in the wind
The sun on my face to remind me
No pain, can this depth of love, rend
It's in the bird's song, in the butterfly's dance
In the ebb of the tide - it's nature's romance
It's God's subtle way of showing us
Through each of life's valleys and peaks
That through these silent graces
He lovingly speaks.

I like the way you make the reader "see" what you are talking about...rather than just talking about it. Your descriptive language is top shelf and your point of view is so lighthearted in this one. May the kudos be with you :)

thanks, malik... this is one of my faves. I enjoyed trying to write from the perspective of "God eyes."

This makes me feel like ...... 'as in the solitude of his capture I feel his rapture, so speak to me Heaven as I bask in your blessing hold me tight so that I may learn every lesson!' ..... diving trance!

Engaging and emotive, this reverie is filled with intimacy and a knowledge of how God speaks.

I can’t express avidly enough how it gratifies me to see excellent work like this, composed with care and vision. This is the kind of piece I frequent this site to see. There are others, but they’re few and far between. First-rate, MD!

Thanks, Chris. I use nature a lot in my themes. I am in awe of God's creation.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
