Night Visions (Prophecy)
Most dreams I dream burn away
with the dawning light of each new day
but still there are those that remain.
Dense with layered prophecies
and people who think they know true belief
that say I'm damned and cause me pain.
Terror fills subconscious in the dark
fear spills over weighing heavy on my heart
but the small things get me through.
The thought of smiles on my kid's faces
always chases doubt and replaces
dread giving me happiness and pride.
The care of my cat feeling my emotions
the sound of her purr is a good potion
for the troubles stirring inside.
Often my visions in sleep come true
but never in a bird's eye view
only bits of the real picture do I see.
Even when they are the worst
and I cry because Im ripe to burst
The good follows the bad that may fall on me.
