    No Need For A Lie

    My head finds this pillow,
    not soft
    but mahogany cold...
    iridescent...
    alive with thoughts of yesterday
with no remorse for the weary.

    Outside lies the days mist.
    Filled with dandelion-ash,
    drifting to the window's edge
to sneak a peek at my entourage...
the dance of memories I take
    night after endless night

    The moon sings a lullaby
    but the words are remnants...
    only taunting
    my already trailing sanity.

    One would think the BLUE
    would fade away some evening...
    leave me at peace.
    At the very least empty...
    void of yesteryear's wishes.

    Only...

I find my mind is too astute
    and my soul too wistful
    to believe such a lie
    as forgetfulness.

Can't wait to read more of your poetry. Interesting use of imagery (dandelion-ash). Keep up the good work

Ooo, nice language. I LOVE the second stanza. And the way you capitalized blue, obviously brings a thought to mind.

WOW..., its like a breath of fresh air. That was an incredibly well written and beautiful poem. It was filled with emotion and portrayed very well in your articulation. I wish I had half the talent that you have. I look forward to reading more. =)

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
