Old friends

To times hurt in love.
And lost in life
To the screams heard in the nights
Some innocent child sleeps in the cold.
The moon as its guide to find its way home
People hurt more now
To see what lays ahead
The stay at what is never seen
Hoping to be the endless paradise
In the lives that hurt even now
Things people try to hide.
The lie and cheat and tell you its fine
With my heart so worn and torn
You think it would mend
From the time I saw you
To the bitter end
The truth is you never forget
The pain never goes away
It never softens
Like they say
So I’m still here
Missing you
Wondering if you miss me to
We were so close
It was sad to see that end
But only for now my friend
You were there for a long time
As only a true friend could be
But the goddesses said its you time
So home you did fly
Till another time
We will meet again
To tell stories and tales
With no end
But till that time
I miss you so
To the pain you left
I bid it a foe
For the time I was
Till the time I die
I wish I live up to what you saw

A very well expressed stream of coherent conciousness. Wistful and literate!

Very sad, but very poignant and I'm sure your friend sees you struggling every day and lays her/his arms around you and helps you through...just open up your heart and you'll feel them there.

Aww, such a sad poem. Especially at christmas time. But brilliantly written. The flow was very nicely done, and I enjoyed some of your phrasing. Great job. I did notice some grammar issues, though. Nicely done, all in all. :)

Very emotional, and I can feel the sad inside it. Nice poem.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
