    P. J. Day

    Today is a Pajama Day
I refuse to change my clothes
    It really doesn't matter
    Cause I'm eating cookie batter
    And picking one red rose
To be the center piece for the day
    In some insignificant way
I stuck it in my ball of clay
    It is the foolest way
    To stay engaged
    if I should dare
To place a rose-bud in my hair
    It really doesn't matter
    The former or the latter
For him I do not care
    At all.
    I've seen the writing
    On the proverbial wall
Perhaps I'll ask him "let me be"
With my rose bush and some tea
I think that he will let me be
    Free from all entanglements
    And from his strange compliments
"You look like Shit" on this fine day
Oh please won't you just let me say
I do not love you any way?
    It will not be you
    To see me through
    I never knew
    one gross as you
and even if you tell me, too
and say your love is oh so true
    It's so easy to forget
That you were just a little bet
I made with my friend Nanette
    Soooooo...Go away
    Make sure to stay
    Away, away, away today
    and forever more.

you know what rouge if your going to chose to comment... why would you do it in a way that you wouldn't want another to read other then the poet... I only say this because of what you posted and it sucks that you think that you are kool like that.... you might be an outstanding writer... you might be a good critic, but only to some you are a good critic... not me... and I might know about your writing cause I just don't ever seem to want to read your...stuff and I hope you read this... Poems are an expression of the poets feelings and not always intended to meet all reader's expectations. This is a very nice write.

can you write a classic type poem with metering? for me to read. keep the rhyming scheme the same throught, count syllables to make it the same. you should delete this comment after you read it

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
