Paid Over and Over Again

Paid Over and Over Again

At you government wall,
wailing women beg.
Children in tow,
whose rung on the ladder,
has forever been changed
by war.
Each orthodox sees
with one eye closed.
Power deludes the truth,
and creed turns into
righteous slaughter.
Whatever the outcome,
both sides have lost
their innocent ones.

Unfortunately the poor will always walk among us and those in the government that are incapable of moral and social feelings will always look the other way.

How sad but true, we are all victims, great lines speak serious truth, one eye will always be closed as we walk this earth. Let us try and not lose hope, for it could be worse.

But without BS, how would we write our poems?!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
