    Perfect Daze

    I remember a time
    When everything fell into place
    Call it picture perfect
    Or even call it fate
    What ever it was
    Left me dreamin' all day
    And rendered me speechless
Not even words dared to explain
    You see,
    Nothing was more perfect
    Than Reality then
    But the memory now
Is just a picture in my head
    And those feelings attached
Could never belong to a friend
So I hold close with hope
That it never comes to an end
    Our attraction was pure
    So there's nothing to blame
    But I can't quite develop
Why my heart burns in this frame
    And sometimes I wonder
If you still feel the same
    Love-struck in this vision
    Perhaps Cupid lost aim
    Your image drifts away
    And while my heart mends
    I'll be picturing you
    My true lover and friend
So now try to be patient
I'll close my eyes and pretend
    That this faded out picture
    Can be Perfect once again

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
