Perspectacles

Poem Commentary

Just some thoughts I had on the power of perspective and perception.

Perspectacles

The spectacles you wear
Are what will truly shape
The stories that you share
About the things that just took place
The basis of your observation
Will always overshadow
The event that is in demonstration
You are looking through a window
And if my window shade is blue
And the happening is yellow
Then all that I can see is green
And I believe it to be real
If your window tint is red
And what was said is blue
Then all that you can hear is purple
And you believe it to be true
If we could all trade shades
And see truth in different ways
We could strengthen the reception
Of the depth of our perception
We'd open ourselves up
To a world of technicolor
Can you imagine only seeing red?
Life would be much duller...
But if I look out your window
To see what you see
My insight into you
Offers insight into me
If you look through my glass
And to you blue is new
Perhaps there's a chance
You could learn a new truth
A new option open
Another view to drink
Something more to have hope in
An expanded way to think
Let shaping your thoughts
And feelings be your art
Painted with your heart
Sculpting what you ponder
Letting your mind wonder
Without letting it wander
So if looking through blue
Makes me angry with you
I'll try looking through green
Re-assessing the scene
I'll try the whole rainbow
The prism of truth
Constantly changing
With each point of view
There's nothing more reflective
Of your life than your perspective
Although they're all respective
They achieve the same objective
To feel the insecurity
To bask in possiblility
To teeter on uncertainty
To grow in our humanity
To make us question sanity
To let us strive for quality
To lead home to Divinity
Divine Truth
Shows itself through many colors
Each tint is a glimpse
One no better than the other
So take a look around
Put your shades down
So you can see the rainbow
In pastels or in day-glo
Let them swirl and splash
Mix and twist and mash
A blue dot a yellow dash
A technicolor crash
Then choose the shades
That feel like love
That make you smile
And feel like fun
Let the colors in you run
Until they melt and become one
Looky looky what you spy?
What do you see within your eye?
What looks wet is sometimes dry
Illusion can the eye defy?
Not when it makes it
And molds it and shapes it
Draw it and paint it
Chisel and glaze it
Exhalt and praise it
What you give such power to
Is what you bring with you as true

Wow. There are no words for the talent displayed here. Again, deserves a 10!

Thank you jake! I'm so happy that someone finally actually read this! I'm glad you got where I was coming from, thanks for taking a moment to look out my window :)

Poetry is what is lost in translation.
