    Poem Commentary

It's human to aspire. We employ our hands to work out of an agenda. One that's either ours, or the bi-product of sharing the elements with others around us who also see the need for it and employ us. Necessary as it is for us to aid in "making the world go round", a human agenda only takes care of the mechanics and procreative side of things. Evolution of the soul and spirit is the poetry of LIFE which "vocation" has been freely facilitated in a few earth dwellers. No clearer is it highlighted than in the words of Mother Teresa. This is an edited compilation of some of the things she's said to Media folks along the way to Heaven.

Poems in Love ~ Edited sayings of Mother Teresa

    Peace begins with a smile.

Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.

Sweetest Lord, make me appreciative of the dignity of my high vocation, and its many responsibilities. Never permit me to disgrace it by giving way to coldness, unkindness, or impatience.

Our life of poverty is as necessary as the work itself. Only in heaven will we see how much we owe to the poor for helping us to love God better because of them.

The success of love is in the loving - it is not in the result of loving. Of course it is natural in love to want the best for the other person, but whether it turns out that way or not does not determine the value of what we have done.

The miracle is not that we do this work, but that we are happy to do it.

Let us more and more insist on raising funds of love, of kindness, of understanding, of peace. Money will come if we seek first the Kingdom of God - the rest will be given.

In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love.

Intense love does not measure, it just gives.

If we want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.

God doesn't require us to succeed; he only requires that you try.

I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness.

I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.

I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much.

I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world.

I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor. Do you know your next
     door neighbor?

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.
Jesus said love one another. He didn't say love the whole world.

Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty.

... Loneliness is the most terrible poverty.

Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.

Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand.

One of the greatest diseases is to be nobody to anybody.

Many people mistake our work for our vocation. Our vocation is the love of Jesus.

I am speechless. Mother Teresa, a Saint, speaks volumes to those that listen and understand. Akin to pearls dropped from Heaven into the waiting arms of man. Thank you for devoting time and energy posting this work. Mrgee

More than anyone, she had learned to take the ink right off the pages of the scriptures and make them a staple to consume with/as her daily bread. And it's my pleasure (blessing) to post it.

Thank you Churv. 'No better inspiration for good deeds. The road of life would be a lot less stressful if it were paved with the personal intentions of people like her as it's workers.

YES she was-recently I actually had to DEFEND her on the forum. I thought, what's the world coming to when poets,no less, gang up like wolves and attack the character of Mother Teresa?!? I too, like you, have always tried to model after this amazing Saint, in my actions..again, great job! again..warm huggies!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
