Biography

Although my introduction to the craft of creative written expression was 'fiction', 'poetry' is my first love. After completion of my first novel, Banishment Of Drew NuBreed, though I was burnt out on fiction, I had a lot of artistic energy. With that energy I applied myself to the study of poetry. Sometimes rhyme is how the poem presents itself, but I always initially fight the impulse to rhyme. I prefer 'free verse'. The father of free verse for me is, Walt Whitman. Just reading aloud, When Lilacs Last In Dooryard Bloomed, is a scared event. I think America's greatest contribution to Western art, is our writing whether fiction or poetry.
