I first started writing poetry at age 13. Of course back then everything rhymed TOO MUCH, the sentences had no meter and not much of it made sense unless you were another adolescent with similar problems lol.

I have evolved over the years. I used to HATE to have anyone critique my stuff, I looked at it as if it were perfect just because I wrote it! Well, now I not only welcome critiques and take them well, but i also get the old poems out on occasion and try to fix the meter and rhyme, which is a job in itself!!

I enjoy writing poems. I love to try my hardest to go by the old fashioned poetry rules to some degree (I don't know them all). I'm not much for the free verse, although I do write free verse and call it poetic...I do not consider them actual poems so i never post those...those are my private thoughts :)
