    Poem Commentary

Here's to me and the rest of the old folgies out there. lol

    Pressing On

    Got up at five

    Went to bed by nine

    Whoever said?

    We age like wine

    Moving foreword

    Pressing on

    Remembering my youth

    Those days are gone

    A little wiser

    Hair peppered gray

    Full head of hair

    Back in the day

    Can’t turn around

    Can’t change what's passed

    As an avalanche

    Time’s moving fast

    Seasons of life

    Fall is here

    Winter in sight

    Approaching near

    Raising my glass

    A shot of whiskey

    Here’s to me

    I’ll soon be fifty

50 is the new 40 or the new 60 not sure how the saying goes... with wit like this i have a feeling that you might never grow "old"... nicely written

Still riding bicycle and playing racquetball. Trying my best to stave off being "old" Thanks for the comment. :)

ACTUALLY, I am seeing this poem for the first time, My poem, Advice To An Old Pensioner," was written in a one night and posted in the Weekly Contest the same night. "Advice To An Old Pensioner" turns out accidentally to be a parody of your poem,Oblaidon. Now which of the poems antedate the other. Which is the older poem. Oblaidon? You tell me!................LOL. My rating for the over-all excellence of your poem is 10x10x10+.Of course OP will only recognize 10.

I had a hard time turning 40. I think I have accepted 50 already. I still have more than a year left in my 40s. Your poem gives advice to those in their winter years. Where my poem dwells on the fall years. -hey, thanks for the high rating. :)

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
