Prisoner

Prisoner

My heart speaks your name at day but it screams it at night

It would be easier to let go if everyone said it wasn’t right

When you visit me in my sleep I drown in my dreams

I hope you come back one day and end these silent screams

My legs grow restless cuz they aren’t running back to your face

They are both prisoners of your choice so they simply stay in place

I don’t know what it is about you, but you stop me from being rebellious

Don’t worry, I wont give up, I promise you I wont fail us…

very nice, good word choice ,nice steady rhythm. makes the reader curious about the poems story in a few short lines. Good write

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
