    Pryor Creek Rodeo

    By Wanda Stevens

I can remember back when I was young
There wasn’t many places to go,
so we would all look forward to a happy event
    the Pryor creek rodeo

And when that time finally rolled around
You could bet that I would go
never mind the dust and heat
I would be treated to a real good show

I would never miss this happy event
the streets would be over flowing
It was Rodeo time in Pryor Creek
    and every one was going

Now we can not ever compare with
That Oregon gang. I guess that would be some thing to see,
But we had our own heroes, There in Pryor Creek
And that was good enough for me.

At the top of the list and the best we had
Was a cowboy named Commodore Ross
Joe Keener was next, at least in my book
Both were Dam good on a hoss.

There were others of course to go with these two
In fact we had quite a few.
But time and space are both running out,
So, I will not name any more for you.

But if you ever get stuck in a town named Locust Grove
You can bet there will be no where for you to go
Roll back a few years, in fact quite a few.
And enjoy the Pryor Creek Rodeo!

Another great peom, you really express yourself well and have a way with words. this poem really takes you back in time.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
