Purple Haze

Purple Haze

From the endless night some see all day
Forever is truth be told.
The time we use is all are own,
Turning in the darkness to save us from bitter end
With that one sweet word all can be saved,
With that one true color the night can be slain
whats in my heart now we'll never know
My life here on earth counts so little
In one second my life could be eradicated,
so tell me what point is there to fear
what point is there to run
why must I hide from the end
but live as life should
for a life lived is better than a life of fear
so come out of that cloud that hides you so well
for their is nothing to fear but fear its self
and for that just laugh it off
make the most of what comes and goes
don't hide behind the purple haze
watching others live your life.

First, the picture that accompanies this poem is beautiful. Second the poem is also a gem. We had a sermon this sunday on the fragility of life. You are so correct. We are hear to live and celebrate life not to dwell within a spirit of fear.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
