Put It Down Child

Poem Commentary

Okay, so if you dont get it at first, this is from a much older version of me, speaking to a young version of me,( from a few months ago) one who was very troubled. It's basically me, looking back into my life, and wanting to comfort myself. Having a bit of a maternal instinct on my 12 year old self as a 20-60 year old. If that makes sense. btw, im proud of this one, the whole concept, so please read rate and comment :D

Put It Down Child

Put it down child.
Honey, come to me.
Let me hold you,
let me kiss your scars.
Let me make everything better.
Put it down child.
Sweetheart, don't pretend you weren't
I know you.
I know that trick.
I know it all too well.
Put it down, child.
Baby, listen to me
There is so much I need to say.
So much to warn you about.
So much you should know.
Put it down, child.
Darling, I love you.
I must stop you
I must help you get through this.
I must fix your broken heart.
Put it down, child.
Treasure, get rid of them.
Throw them out.
Throw them out the window.
Throw them out of your life.
Put it down, child.
Dear, I care.
You mean so much to me.
You mean the world to me.
You mean everything.
Put it down. child.
Precious girl, no need to be afraid.
I've come here.
I've come here to tell you.
To tell you,
put it down, child.

This is very good, honey. It makes me think of a guardian angel appearing to stop someone from hurting him/herself. Very powerful imagery as well like she was caught about to do it and tries to make it seem like nothing was happening. Very powerful poem, sweetheart. One of your best.

This is a very good write. There are so many things a reader can imagine with this poem. Whether you're being asked to put something down that you are holding physically or emotionally.....it's always good to put it down. You get a big smile and a 10 from me sweetie. :) 10
