    Poem Commentary

This one was inspired by a strange and amusing statement by Gogant. It was about our Neanderthal-like poetry writing skills when we are adolescents. Therefore, this one is something completely different (Monty Python?) - and it required no less effort to write. Trip and enjoy!

    "Neanderlove"

    I like
    You much
    I like
    Your touch.

    You hate
    My club
    You ate
    My grub.

    Finding herds
    We are
    Two birds
    One star.

    Our sky
    We know
    Stars high
    Sun aglow.

    As we
    Do talk
    And pee
    And walk.

    When we
    Both tall
    Climb tree
    You fall.

    How we
    Do run
    So free
    Hot sun.

    We same
    We play
    Drool game
    Half day.

    In grass
    We roll
    Or pass
    And stroll.

    And we
    Go hunt
    By sea
    And grunt.

    I do
    Smash clam
    For you
    I swam.

    At beach
    We saw
    Big leech
    One claw.

    We make
    Sand angels
    We make
    Sand circles.

    We afar
    Seaweed fight
    We are
    Always right.

    We chase
    The waves
    And space
    In caves.

    The day
    The sun
    We say
    We're one.

    One dusk
    You stayed
    Your musk
    We played.

    We rid
    The fever
    We did
    Make fire.

    Let's glide
    On the breeze
    And hide
    In the trees.

    Let's fly
    In the rain
    And cry
    Not again.

    Let's now
    Not forget
    Just how
    We met.

    My dream
    Of you
    By a stream
    Is true.

stardrift, I love the message of this poem and the fact you used as few words as possible but still the result was captivating! Lovely. ginga

Fantastic! How creative. I envy your ability to so readily write in different voices and with different styles.

this poem reminds me of Mt.Tam by dancinghawk in a way that both speaks freedom..

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
