    Poem Commentary

Feeling stuck inside-not much fun getting drenched-good OP day:)

    Rain Haiku

    The rain wets the ground
soaks into roots and up stems
    makes plants stand erect

    The sun will return
    Today is watering day
    The Earth drinks it up

    Puddles gather round
    birds drink and splash contently
    car splash driving by

    Rain, rain go away
let the sunlight take a turn
    Smile upon the Earth

wonderful four complete haiku added into one message... the rain makes it green... I once wished the rain in Georgia away, it didn't go away for days upon days, in the old cabin on stilts, atop a small hill like an ark... so I'm back in California where it's grey... when it rains, it does make the smog go away for a couple of days... I love your earthly poetic views...

Might I suggest - bitrds now drink and splash content - That line needs on more syllable. I like Haiku, don't you. It says a lot in so few.

Earthly, The beautiful imagery you use here creates a wonderfully vivid picture in my mind of a rainy day. Sometimes on rainy days I like to sit by the window and watch the birds playing in the puddles.Their frolicking reminds me to celebrate life every day and make the most of every moment. Thanks for sharing.Blessings. Terry

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
