    Self Destruction

    My self destruction has begun
And you are the only one
Who can quiet my sobs, dry my tears,
Hold me tight, overcome my fears.

Your absence is driving me insane,
I feel ignored, I feel the pain.
The countdown started right on cue,
    The victory goes to you.

Time creeps on and the numbers fly,
Without your breath, I will surely die.
I am drowsy, my eyes now shut.
Self destruction the answer to my rut.

this poem was rated a 5, no way i gave it an 8, you were hit by a fly by poet, I like this poem

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
