Somehow

Somehow
I thought I sewed myself up.
I thought I hardened myself,
Yet somehow…
Somehow I’m broken even more.
Somehow your words reach me.
Somehow…I’m hurting again.
I tried to be the strong one,
I was the only one
In this deserted vacancy
Wishing for a second chance.
It all fell down
There wasn’t anything for me to lean on.
Don’t try to tell me you know,
When I feel like I’ve been falling
All along,
Long before the wall gave out.
Somehow…I knew I should have
Savored it when I could.
Somehow I knew everything was wrong,
I just didn’t know where to begin..
Now you’re gone and my words aren’t reaching you…,yet
Somehow I’m broken even more.
Somehow your words reach me.
Somehow…I’m hurting again.
I thought I sewed myself up.
I thought I hardened myself,
Yet somehow…
Somehow I’m broken even more.
Somehow your words reach me.
Somehow…I’m hurting again.
I tried to be the strong one,
I was the only one
In this deserted vacancy
Wishing for a second chance.
It all fell down
There wasn’t anything for me to lean on.
Don’t try to tell me you know,
When I feel like I’ve been falling
All along,
Long before the wall gave out.
Somehow…I knew I should have
Savored it when I could.
Somehow I knew everything was wrong,
I just didn’t know where to begin..
Now you’re gone and my words aren’t reaching you…,yet
Somehow I’m broken even more.
Somehow your words reach me.
Somehow…I’m hurting again.

Platti.,a finely written work you've created as only you can. Thanks for sharing. Great write! ... StandingBear

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
