     aka "NEW BEGINNINGS"


    Clear skies I envision
    From this moment on
    I've made my decision
    I choose to be strong


    No more looking backward
    I'm looking ahead
    My feet moving forward
    No more tears to shed


    God's love will go with me
    I'll follow His lead
    In selfless submission
    His voice will I heed


    I'll be better for it
    I'll make it somehow
    I hear the doors opening
    I'm on my way now


    With less effort and grace
    I'll advance through life's stages
    For I've learned to be happy,
    That smiles are contagious


    I've learned to trust God
    And believe in myself
    This love will sustain us
    When there's nothing left.

    "For I've learned to be happy, that smiles are contagious" Wow! This line just captured my entire attention. You always deliver the most piercing messages. Thank you so much old friend.

    poetgirl, can you help me? the past 5 years of my life have been a living hell. i lost the use of one of my hands. my wife left me because she wanted someone, whole. she left me with our son who is now almost 16. moved in with another guy . she keeps in touch with our son, but my life was shattered. i got addicted to pain pills and lost my faith in God. i'm so alone in my life, if only God would come into it, i think i too could be strong agian. and maybe even find another love. your poem tells me that you are strong and kind at the same time. i need help fighting of the addictions and the demons. steve

    Hi Steve... first of all, thanks for taking the time to read my poem... also for sharing a little of your story. Let me remind you that GOD is always there, even in the darkest midnight of our lives... Don't give up on God, Steve, because He hasn't given up on you. He's kept your son with you to love you through your present circumstances, but your son also needs you. Stand up and summon the strength within you that only God can give. Wishing you PEACE and LOVE in abundance...
