Sweet Woodland Song

Sweet Woodland Song

A blanket of black velvet falls

Covering all with gentle grace

As the old tall trees stand

Waving to the stars

And crickets hum

Their harmonious night tune

As the soft wind whispers

Love songs to the moon

The woodland creatures

Settle in a peaceful slumber

As the music of the woods play on…

And the music of the woods plays on

As I lie next to you

On that soft green carpet

I listen to your breath

And how it adds to the woodland song

Savoring the sweet memory

From a short time before

The kiss… the touch…

The making of love

Kissing you softly

I wake you… the wanting in me

Needs and craves your touch

As the music of the woods play on…

And the music of the woods plays on

I like it. That's what I call taking "being one with nature" to a whole new level. I knew there was a reason I wanted this poem in double digits : )

It is amazing the bond nature has with us no matter where our surroundings are. Its even more powerful when we use those surroundings to enhance our love lives. Its like nature gets to be part of the dance. :)

The majesty of nature, the order of things peaceful ... none are greater than love that two share, the rest is only witness to greatness we sometimes forget to see. A very nice, soothing write, thanks, I like your style, be well, k

Can there be anything more arousing than tender love making in a pasture, cradled by the statues of oak and pine.........your poem draws one into a haven for lovers among natures offerings. This is a wonderful poem Rita....................................gogant

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
