Symbolic Differences

We are a civilization of symbols

A creation often lost; seeking direction

We look to one another and we look away

Some need to follow, others were born to lead

Our destruction lies in our own minds and our salvation within our own hands

The echo of shallow words can control the weak willed, while well spoken syllables inspire the masses

We currently exist in a technical spiral

Crossed between documenting and decapitating history

Today and yesterday are different – still, ironically the same

We are a civilization of symbols

What pictures of time do you remember

What tragic signs are you trying to deface

Can you leave your own mark by making a difference

"Something happens and as a result something changes"

Very interesting and very true. I like the way how a lot was said with the shortest amount of words. Great poem

These words are so true - Ming

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
