Take Captive

The cords of death entangle us as I pray to God once more.
As a man died in the ICU and another on the Oncology floor.
I fear my faith is slipping but perfect love drives out fear.
So I take captive every thought to my Lord who loved me dear.
I'm needed to be strong I know
For my wife and daughter too.
But this roller coaster ride is tough
If I let my heart be true.
I live by faith and prayer
and friends and family
Who's thoughts and prayers sooth my soul and truly encourage me.
We're friends and lovers I tell my wife and partners for life as well.
And disciples of Jesus Christ himself and in who's kingdom dwell.

How Christ gives us strength and inspiration to praise even in the darkest times...keep leaning on Him. MSV

The passion in which you describe the journey that you have walked is unremarkable. There is so much emotion felt within. You manage to draw the reader and maintain a level of interest. You are so blessed with the gift of writing! God bless you!

I cannot pass up this opportunity to totally agree with jademelissa74. It feels as if I could feel your emotions in this poem. You are blessed and your writing is a blessing to others.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
