TEACH ME THY WAY

TEACH ME THY WAY

Teach Me Thy Way-

For I am tired of moving in my own direction,

Doing much, but accomplishing all but nothing of significance.

My soul has come to a point to cry out for your protection.

A defiant person reluctant in his spiritual stance,

I stood between the gates of life and death.

Waiting for a commanding voice to usher me in,

Standing there for a while, challenged to dare.

Of a proper spiritual journey, I yearned to begin.

To learn to believe that a God might really care.

To acknowledge that I know nothing, I will boldly say.

As I stand waiting for you to lovingly, Teach Me Thy Way.

All you poetry is a prayer of a "spiritual journey". Except for one line you have a sonnet. Nice job.

Yes! Oh Mighty God, teach us thy way. For this is the only way to finish this race. I can not begin to convey the joy that you have brought upon my heart. This poem reminds me of what my daily prayer should be. There is no other way to go. Thank you so much for caring for those who need to hear these eloquent words.

This is a poem concerning prayer and receiving God's direction. Thank you for reading and commenting on this poem.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
